What’s been happening:

Enlisted, US Army, 1971-74, assigned HQ Company USA in support of Armor Officer Personnel, Pentagon. Served as environmental engineer/scientist for private consulting firms and US EPA 1975-2004. Was a member of staff that produced the first set of hazardous waste regulations. Was first EPA staffer credentialed by US Department of State to conduct multi-media environmental inspections under the Antarctic Treaty's Environmental Protocol. Inspected 8 research stations in the Antarctic during Operation Deep Freeze '95 via Polar Star icebreaker and helicopter ship-to-shore operations. Entailed a near circumnavigation from McMurdo to "East Antarctica" and return through the Drake Passage to Punta Arenas, Chile. Crossed the International Date Line, every time zone on the planet, and sailed directly across South Magnetic Pole. What a long, strange ride it's been! (For you Dead Heads.)
